C O M M U N I C A T I ON

I am an experienced public speaker with training in workshop facilitation.

In my undergraduate degree I gave 30+ presentations, developing an understanding of and comfort with public speaking. I also took a month-long rhetoric course, which taught me how to communicate effectively and with style. Since graduating I have spoken at academic conferences, and participated in a Toastmasters speakers club in London.

During my studies at the London School of Economics I took a training course in workshop facilitation with The Philosophy Foundation. In this course I learned how to facilitate youth and adults discussing complex philosophical issues. The core skill I developed was learning how to enable participants to engage with a subject and with each other and prompting sophisticated new ideas. As part of my certification I led five workshops in London schools, and since my completion of the programme I have led several other sessions with schools and youth groups.

(I would like to insert a video of myself doing a toastmasters presentation here).

Things to add: video from ToastMasters, making a survey, maybe something about designing stuff for APCC
